About
My journey as a quilter started as a wish over 35 years ago. I didn’t own a rotary cutter or a cutting mat, but I so badly wanted to make a quilt after I was inspired by a layer cake I saw in a quilting store. It was a challenge pack of batik squares that local quilters were cutting up and making into gorgeous quilts. The fabric was so incredible that I was too afraid to cut it for fear I would ruin it, so all I could manage to do was to sew them all together in a basic patchwork format. It was the first quilt that I finished when I finally got my long arm, and I cherish it because it signifies my beginning. Experts aren’t born. It takes years of practice to develop a skill or a craft. Where are you on your quilting journey? You might be at the beginning, or you might be an expert quilter. Regardless of where you are, I can assist with your quilting journey. Some quilt projects can take a long time, while others are super quick. Regardless, the quilting process can be seen as the longest part of the journey. Let me help you with the home stretch. I sew it, and then it’s done. Sew Done!

I’ve been in sales and marketing for the last 35 years with an MBA degree, but my creative side is where I have the most fun! I was so lucky to have inherited my grandmother’s Singer. I was self taught, tackling some fearless and reckless trial and error projects. I pushed my way through all the early mishaps fueled by my love for the handmade. I fell in love with thread painting, dabbled in bag making, but then the family years came along, and I quickly pivoted to making pajamas and Halloween costumes. The kids loved their flannel whale jammies! Looking back, I bush-wacked my way through those patterns, but they never knew that, and they were king of the mountain wearing jammies made just for them! I can’t tell you the joy I experienced drawing up patterns for costume designs with my kids for whatever wild idea they came up with for Halloween. I experienced “Meraki” (May-rock-eee), which is a Greek word meaning to do something with love, creativity, or soul, or to put a part of yourself into your work. 😊
I was invited by a friend to join her for a one-day quilt class and then I was hooked and no longer afraid to cut the pretty fabric! LOL! Like any good mom, I allowed those parenting years to take a strong hold, and my quilting hobby took a back seat, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Fast forward about 20 years to now where the hustle-bustle of a young family has quieted and given way to more time for quilting. We invested in a long arm machine with the intent to get my long arm business up and running. I have a Handi Quilter Amara 24 with Pro Stitcher Premium electronic quilting software on a 12-foot frame which handles up to a king size quilt. We are a pet free and smoke free home which means your quilt will not be exposed to allergens.
